How many sports are there in the world? There is no exact answer because what we perceive as sport may not be considered so elsewhere. My dictionary describes sport as, “ a game or competitive activity, esp. an outdoor one involving physical exertion .” In a very lengthy definition, it goes on to say that sport is, “ a game, pastime, recreation or entertainment ”. Could the world of sport actually be any broader or any more difficult to define! Tennis 2012 - A Grand Slam of Information:Tournaments,Schedule, Players, Results

It promises to be a bumper and busy year for all the big tennis stars in 2012. Along with the four Grand Slam events and other tournaments, there is the somewhat small matter of Olympic tennis to contend with, with many of the world’s best players sure to want to add Olympic gold to hopefully go along with a Grand Slam winner’s trophy. With the London 2012 Olympics also staging the tournament at Wimbledon, players will get two shots at glory at the All England Club. FA Cup 4th Round Fixtures

This weekend sees the FA Cup reach the fourth round stage. With only 32 teams left in the competition we take a look at some of the key fixtures to look out for this weekend. Liverpool v Manchester United The key clash of this weekend’s fixtures has to be between two of England’s, and in fact Europe’s, greatest football teams. With United having already dealt a blow to one major rival in the previous round, when they beat Manchester City 3-2 at the Etihad Stadium, they would have been praying the footballing Gods would have arranged a safe home tie against a Championship team. 2012 Olympic Tickets...There is Another Option!

Never before had people been so keen for money to disappear from their account. On the 31 st May, 2011, people throughout the UK were waiting anxiously to see whether they had been successful in their application for 2012 Olympic tickets. They had filled in their application forms over a month ago and now their moment was here. Would they have got what they wanted? Would they have got anything in this much criticised ‘lucky dip’ approach to ticket allocation? The tension for some would have been palpable!
